Sumwright extracts the merchant, date, total, tax, card last-4, and the line items. Review the fields and fix anything that didn’t read cleanly. Images are processed securely and never sold — see the Privacy Policy.
Add a tip & split (optional)
Pick a tip — 15%, 18%, 20%, or a custom amount — and how many people are splitting. Sumwright shows the tip, the total charged, and what each person pays. The tip-inclusive total is saved as the receipt amount, so it lines up with the real charge on your card.
Tag and save
File it as Personal, Business, or to a Project (pick an existing project or create one), then Save. It lands in your Receipts Vault.

Matching & duplicates
When a matching charge shows up in your linked accounts, Sumwright links the receipt to that transaction automatically (it matches the total within a few days, and prefers the account whose card matches the receipt). Because a receipt attaches to the transaction rather than becoming a second entry, nothing gets double-counted.
If you scan a receipt that looks like one you already saved — same merchant, date, and total — Sumwright asks you to confirm before saving a second copy.
The Receipts Vault
Every saved receipt lives in the Receipts Vault — open it from the View receipts link on the Bills / Income tab. You can browse them newest-first, open the stored image, and delete any you don’t need. The vault is shared across your household and syncs to every device.
