Terms of Service

Last updated: June 10, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Sumwright applications and website (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Sumwright (“Sumwright,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Sumwright does

Sumwright is a personal-finance automation tool. It connects to financial accounts you choose to link, analyzes your balances and transactions, and helps you plan and schedule debt payments, model payoff strategies, and organize your cash flow. You remain in control: Sumwright surfaces recommendations and stages actions, and you decide whether to approve them.

2. Not financial, legal, or tax advice

Sumwright is an informational and organizational tool. It is not a financial advisor, investment advisor, broker, accountant, or lender, and nothing in the Service is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Projections, debt-free dates, interest estimates, and “safe surplus” figures are illustrative estimates based on the data available to us and may differ from actual results. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Consider consulting a qualified professional before acting.

3. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your account credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Connecting accounts & money movement

When you link a bank or card, you authorize Sumwright and our data partner (Plaid) to access read-only account and transaction information on your behalf. Sumwright does not move money without your explicit, authenticated approval. Transfer features stage your instructions and execute them only through a licensed payment provider once that capability is enabled for your account; until then, such actions are recorded as your intent. You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds and for any fees your financial institution may charge.

5. Subscriptions, billing & trials

Premium features require a subscription. Plans include a monthly plan billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and annual or two-year plans purchased on our website through Stripe. Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless canceled before the renewal date. Free trials, where offered, convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless canceled first. Prices are shown at checkout in your local currency and may change with notice for future renewals.

6. Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel anytime. App-store subscriptions are managed and canceled through your Apple or Google account; web subscriptions through the customer portal or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals; you retain access through the end of the paid period. Refunds for app-store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. For web purchases, contact us — refunds are provided where required by law and otherwise at our discretion.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the Service: no attempting to breach security or access another user’s data, no reverse-engineering or circumventing entitlement checks, no using the Service for unlawful purposes, and no interfering with its operation. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that estimates and categorizations will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sumwright will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or financial outcomes arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
