Why Sumwright

The money app that hands you a plan.

Budgeting apps tell you what happened. Sumwright tells you what to do next — across every card, loan, mortgage and pay-later plan you have — for less than the best-known names.

A plan, not just a pie chart

Most money apps show you where your money went. Sumwright tells you what to do next: how much to put on each debt this month, in which order, and the date you’ll be debt-free.

Example: $1,500 a month across two cards and a car loan → the Debt Plan shows each month’s payment per debt, your debt-free month, and the interest saved versus paying only minimums.

Every debt in its right place

Mortgages, car loans, student loans, store cards and credit cards are recognised and grouped for what they are — from your bank’s data, the lender’s name and the payment pattern, with AI help when the rules aren’t sure. You can always change it with one tap.

Example: a steady $1,009 a month to a community bank is filed under Mortgages, not Credit cards — and kept out of the card payoff order unless you add it.

Pay-later plans count as debt

Klarna, Afterpay and PayPal “Pay in 4” plans are found in your transactions and added to your debts automatically, with what’s left to pay — so a buy-now-pay-later habit can’t hide from your plan.

Example: three Klarna payments of $110.23 left → $330.69 owed, shown under Pay later.

Plan it, then prove it

Plan a payment and the Liquidity Guardrail checks it won’t drain your safety cushion. Pay at your bank as usual, and Sumwright watches your transactions to confirm it landed. It never moves your money.

Example: planning an $850 payment that would leave you under your $1,000 cushion is flagged before you pay it.

Business, Personal or Project — then hand it to your CPA

Tag any transaction, vendor or whole account as Business, Personal or a Project. The CPA Export Bundle add-on turns a date range into one spreadsheet with matched receipt images.

Example: every hardware-store purchase tagged to “Kitchen remodel”, exported with receipts in one go.

Your whole net worth, retirement included

Link a 401(k), IRA or brokerage account with the Investment & retirement accounts add-on. Retirement money counts toward your net worth but is never used by the Debt Plan.

Example: “What you have” shows cash and your 401(k); “What you owe” shows each kind of debt.

One subscription, every device

iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and the web — the same household, in sync. Invite a partner and you both see the same plan.

Example: plan on the Windows desktop app at work, check the payment landed on your phone at home.

Built for trust, not ads

Read-only bank access through Plaid, an authenticator check before your first bank link, bank tokens additionally encrypted with a managed key service, and database-level rules so each household sees only its own data. We don’t sell your data or show ads.

Example: you enter your bank sign-in into Plaid, never into Sumwright.
