Cross-platform setup guide

Get Sumwright running everywhere in a few minutes. Do this once on any device and your account and data sync to the rest — iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, and the web.

1

Get the app

Install Sumwright from the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play (Android), download the Mac or Windows app, or just open sumwright.com in your browser. You can start on any one of them.

2

Create your account and start your trial

Sign up with your email. Your 7-day free trial gives you full access; it converts to the plan you chose only if you don’t cancel first. Start the trial in the iOS or Android app — the web offers the best ongoing price.

3

Secure your account with an authenticator

Before you can connect a bank, Sumwright asks you to enroll a time-based one-time-passcode (TOTP) authenticator — Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password all work. This multi-factor step protects the most sensitive action in the app.

On the same phone, tap “Open in authenticator app.” On a second device, scan the QR code. Or enter the setup key by hand. Then type the 6-digit code to confirm.

The apps also protect themselves with App Lock: once you’re signed in, Sumwright hides your data behind Face ID, a fingerprint, or Windows Hello every time you reopen it — automatically, using your device’s own security. See Security & App Lock.

4

Connect your bank

Link an account through Plaid. You enter your bank credentials directly into Plaid’s secure screen — never into Sumwright, and access is read-only: Sumwright can read balances and transactions to build your plan, and has no ability to move money. Sumwright supports US bank accounts today.

5

Set your safety cushion

Tell Sumwright the minimum buffer you want to keep in your account. Every plan it builds — debt payoff, bill timing, cash flow — respects that cushion, so a recommendation never asks you to dip below the floor you set.

6

Review your plan and turn on notifications

Open the Bills / Income tab to see upcoming bills with their due dates and paid status, and the payoff plan for your debts. Enable notifications so Sumwright can alert you as bills come due and when it confirms a planned payment from your transactions.

7

Sync across your devices

One subscription unlocks every device. Sign in with the same account on your phone, computer, and the web, and your plan and data follow you — pick up exactly where you left off.
